I raced in my first ever cycling stage race last weekend; the Boulder Stage Race. It was a lot of fun, but really hard work. Cylcing is very competitive in category 4 in colorado and I think that they should race cat 5 seperately form cat 4. Having such a tough "beginner" category makes it very hard for beginners to get into bike racing.

I had a blast at the race though, and placed 29th out of 77 who started the race. I performed the best in the event that I though I would perform the worst in: the road race, on dirt roads. I performed worse in the events I thought I was more suited to: time trial and hill climb. I'm looking forward to trying more cycling races. I will post a more in depth summary of how my race went later.
